new bike day!

thank you @saturdaycycles and @statebicycleco

post from saturday cycles:

Slug cat champion, alley cat connoisseur, garage crit creator, and overall amazing part of the SLC cycling community @squanchypapi picked up this State 4130 SS/Fixed frame set. They received a scholarship from @halfacrecycling to participate in SSCX World Championship this year in Minneapolis. We can’t wait to see how this frame gets built out! Woohoo!

post from SSCXCWC:

Thank you @halfacrecycling for sponsoring these riders! Half Acre Cycling is an amateur bicycle racing team based in Chicago. Their aim is to make cycling inclusive, safe, and keep it fun for all. They take that seriously, from providing grants to BIPOC racers and Women, Nonbinary and Trans racers around the country, to hosting adaptive bike race fields at their events, and to helping work with folks interested in cyclocross that need a supportive environment to try it out. 🌳 🫂

SSCXCWC says:

SQUANCHY (she/they) rides because “It is my way to connect with people as well as share my love for this sport! Watching my local community flourish over the last few years has made me feel an extreme sense of worth, safety in my environment, and a support group for anything and everything!” They are “planning on building up something new and cute before the event! I might be riding a State 4130, sugino, nitto, zipp, 700x40 Ramblers, spinnyyy ratio <3”
